Automate your fixture manufacturing

FASTCUBE Fixture Builder

From STEP data to a production-ready welding fixture—in minutes instead of days.

The FASTCUBE Fixture Builder automates the creation of modular welding and cutting fixtures for high-mix, low-volume production. It generates production-ready fixture designs directly from STEP data—without lengthy CAD wait times and with significantly less design effort.

Less design time in fixture manufacturing

Create modular fixtures directly from the STEP model—without external design work and with production-ready DXF/STEP output for laser cutting. This reduces CAD dependencies, shortens design times, and speeds up the process from part geometry to a ready-to-use fixture.

Ideal for high-variety production environments with small batch sizes and tight deadlines.

Problem

It’s not the robot that’s slowing down your production. It’s the fixture.

In many welding and cutting processes, the real bottleneck isn’t automation itself, but finding the right fixture. A wide variety of product variants, a lack of CAD resources, and time-sensitive production processes make traditional fixture design slow and inefficient.

CAD bottleneck

Engineering and CAD resources are limited. Fixtures must be designed, validated, and approved—often resulting in long lead times for manufacturing.

Improvisation at the welding table

If equipment is not available on time, manual workarounds are implemented directly on the production floor. This increases setup times and makes it difficult to maintain stable, repeatable processes.

A wide range of options under time pressure

High-mix, low-volume production and short-notice changes make traditional fixture design time-consuming and difficult to scale economically.

Before / After

From a lengthy design process to a streamlined fixture workflow

The FASTCUBE Fixture Builder does not introduce an additional CAD process; instead, it provides a faster and more controllable path from geometry to a production-ready fixture. This reduces manual adjustments, lengthy design iterations, and unnecessary downtime.

Traditional process

From a component change to a fixture: often several days

  • Component Modification
  • CAD Design
  • Drawing Generation
  • Coordination with Manufacturing
  • Manufacturing Data and Laser Cutting

Typical consequences: long lead times, heavy reliance on engineering capacity, and delayed production starts due to manual coordination and correction cycles.

With FASTCUBE Fixture Builder

From STEP data to a prototype in minutes or a few hours

  • Upload STEP model
  • Generate fixture
  • Adjust parameters
  • Export DXF/STEP
  • Manufacture and assemble

Typical benefits: a shorter path to the fixture, less drawing derivation, faster changes, and production-ready output for laser cutting and assembly.

Here's how it works

From the STEP model to a production-ready fixture in three steps

The FASTCUBE Fixture Builder streamlines lengthy coordination and design cycles into a clear and seamless workflow—from geometry to the finished fixture.

From the STEP model to the finished device

Simply upload your 3D part in STEP format. Using a sketch-based, template-supported parameter input, the FASTCUBE Fixture Builder automatically generates the fixture’s plate structure. Based on the template, the system directly creates a base plate and support plates and positions the workpiece at a defined distance from the base. You retain control at all times through options for manual fine-tuning. Additionally, the tool automatically integrates reliefs for cutting contours and calculates optimizations to reduce the weight of the plates.

What previously required hours or even days of error-prone, detailed CAD work by specialists is thus transformed into an intuitively guided and automated process directly on the shop floor.

Modular and practical

Quickly customize base and support plates, flanges, and clamping towers. Standardized hole patterns fit perfectly on common welding tables.

Quickly customize base and support plates to meet your specific requirements. Standardized hole patterns are automatically generated and fit perfectly on common welding tables. The support plates automatically adapt to the contour of the workpiece and are precisely trimmed to the correct length. To ensure a perfect fit, you can customize parameters such as plate thickness and tolerances or define specific cutouts that guarantee easy removal of the welded component. Automatically generated flanges securely enclose the workpiece for optimal fixation. To completely eliminate errors during subsequent physical assembly on the welding table, the software automatically provides all plates with engraved assembly instructions as well as tapered pins and interlocking connections.

Direct DXF export to production

No media breaks and no dependencies. Eliminate the need to manually derive drawings for production. The software automatically optimizes sheet layout using integrated auto-nesting and seamlessly transfers the data to your laser cutting machine in DXF or STEP format. The digital process truly demonstrates its full strategic potential when component changes are made: If your end customer modifies a geometry, a simple parameter adjustment in the system is all that’s needed. The nesting is recalculated within minutes, and the finished DXF file is immediately re-exported.  What used to take days in the traditional process—from redesign to production approval—can now be completed in a matter of hours. This way, your plant can operate profitably instead of waiting for external design data.

Business Benefits

Faster fixture design. Greater flexibility in manufacturing.

The FASTCUBE Fixture Builder reduces wait times, frees up engineering resources, and speeds up the process from component geometry to a production-ready fixture. This results in faster and more flexible processes in day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Faster production launch

Reduce wait times for design and manufacturing data—and get new fixtures into production faster.

Targeted relief for engineering

Less routine work for CAD and engineering teams. Changes can be prepared in a production-ready format and implemented more quickly.

Less improvisation on the shop floor

Standardized and reproducible fixture components reduce the need for manual workarounds and create more stable processes.

Respond more quickly to changes

When dealing with variants or component changes, it is sufficient to adjust the parameters without having to reconfigure the fixture process each time.
